Privacy policy
Effective date: October 7, 2026. This policy describes what the Vail Tribune collects, why, and how to reach us about it. If any of this changes, we will update this page with a new effective date.

What we collect
- Contact information you give us: name and email when you use a contact or tip form, or sign up for the newsletter.

- Cookie identifiers: see the cookie page.
What we use it for
- Operating the site and keeping it secure.
- Sending the newsletter and responding to tips and contact messages.
- Understanding readership in aggregate.
- Complying with the law.
Who we share it with
[AWAITING PUBLISHER] Vendors: The hosting and analytics vendors in actual use have not been designated yet. Newsletter sign-ups are handled by Kit (kit.com). This policy names only vendors actually in use.
Cookies and tracking
We describe our cookies on the cookie page. We do not sell personal data.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
Retention and security
We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards; no system can promise absolute security.
Your rights
You may ask what data we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it. Contact details for such requests are [AWAITING PUBLISHER]: the monitored contact point has not been designated yet.
Colorado Privacy Act
The Colorado Privacy Act applies to controllers processing data of 100,000 or more Colorado consumers (or 25,000 with data sales). The Vail Tribune does not meet these thresholds and does not sell personal data, so the Act does not apply to us at launch. We state this plainly rather than claiming rights or obligations we do not have.
Changes to this policy
We will post changes here with a new effective date.
