Publisher noticeSome fields on this page depend on publisher decisions that have not been finalized. Anything we cannot state as fact is marked as awaiting the publisher rather than invented.
Advertising disclosure
Advertising funds this newsroom; it never buys influence over coverage. This page states exactly how commercial content appears on this site, in line with Federal Trade Commission guidance.
Sponsored content
- Any content paid for by an advertiser is unmistakably labeled as advertising to a reasonable reader.
- The label appears above the headline, in plain language: "Sponsored by [Brand]", "Paid Post", "Advertisement", or "Sponsored Content". We never use "Promoted".
- When sponsored content appears in listings, the label travels with the teaser, not only on the article page.
Affiliate links
If an article contains affiliate links, the material connection is disclosed at the top of the article before the first link, in plain language.
What advertisers cannot buy
- Editorial coverage, favorable or otherwise.
- Suppression or alteration of reporting.
- Placement that could confuse a reader about what is advertising and what is journalism.
